Mbali

Mbali is the Principal of Entuthuko Day & Aftercare Centre, a committed community leader who does not shy away from adversity. Raised in Langa, Cape Town, she witnessed first-hand the struggles of underserved communities. Her visionary leadership actively addresses these inequities. Today, Mbali dedicates her time to making Early Childhood Development Centres across Langa more conducive for learning by serving as the Secretary on the Board of ECDs.

Tackling issues that shackle the youth of Langa, her institution, Entuthuko Day & Aftercare Centre, is more than a daycare. Taking a step further by including children under the care of grandparents or mothers who are still in school, Mbali's holistic and generous approach is what makes this a safe space for the children.

From morning prayer circles where students embrace their spirituality, there is a space for all beliefs. Mbali fosters an environment where biases are actively unlearnt. She ensures her students are working on their motor skills, exploring their creativity, and developing their language and communication.

Entuthuko Day & Aftercare Centre is a beacon of hope and an integral part of Langa's future.
