Our menu is built around these ten nutrient-dense staples recommended by Grow Great.
Energy to play & learn
Maize-based breakfasts like mealie meal, Morvite and oats deliver slow-release carbohydrates that keep children alert through morning circle and learning time.
Protein for growing bodies
Pilchards, chicken, mince and soya provide the protein, iron and omega-3s children need to build strong muscles, healthy brains and a robust immune system.
Veggies & fruit every day
Daily vegetables and fresh fruit snacks supply the vitamins, fibre and micronutrients that protect against the food insecurity many Langa families face.
Why this matters
In South Africa, 1 in 4 children under five is stunted from undernutrition. A consistent, balanced daily menu in the early years is one of the most powerful tools we have to protect a child's physical growth, cognitive development and school-readiness.
